Beyond my scholarship on mental health and trauma, I am also involved in community organizing on related issues. I am currently a board member for the Washtenaw County affiliate of the National Alliance for Mental Illness where, in the winter of 2023, I helped to launch a tri-campus support group for students of color at the University of Michigan, Eastern Michigan University and Washtenaw Community College.
